Our holistic philosophy of care which focuses on making the difference to our patient’s lives is routed in the ability to support the wishes and needs of our patients and their loved ones. Hospice Isle of Man therefore encourages and supports relatives and friends to visit. Close family and next of kin can visit at any time, dependant on the patient’s wishes.
All other visitors are welcome between 2pm and 8pm.
We ask visitors to be mindful that we will need to undertake care delivery, as much of this work is completed during the morning afternoons are more suitable for social visits.
We also ask that visitors be aware that many of our patients need periods of rest
Visitors will be asked to wait in the Braddan lounge until all appropriate assessments and cares are complete.
The Braddan Lounge is a friendly and relaxing place where you and your visitors can enjoy refreshments looking out on to the beautiful Hospice Garden. Children are very welcome to visit; there are toys available in the Braddan Lounge for them to play with.
We also welcome pets – after all, they are part of your family too! You will need to speak to one of the team to arrange a visit from a fluffy companion.
Alternatively, Elaine’s cafe is open from 9am – 4pm for hot drinks and snacks. Hot food is served from 11am – 2.30pm.
If you need to discuss visiting outside of usual visiting hours, please speak to a member of the clinical team.
We offer a variety of services and our team will work with you to help you achieve your goals.
This might mean that you visit Hospice for services which include:
You can find out more about these services on our website or by attending one of our Your Hospice, Your way sessions.
We want you to feel relaxed and comfortable on your visit. Why not enjoy a drink, delicious cake or a meal after your appointment? Elaine’s Café leads onto our tranquil garden space and we have outdoor seating to enjoy on warmer days.
Being able to provide transport to those who most need it is extremely important to us. We are pleased to be able to offer a volunteer driver service to support patients in accessing Hospice for appointments and groups.
If you would like to discuss the Volunteer Driver Service, please speak to your Hospice key worker.
